ETL Developer (San Diego, CA): Use Informatica power center for (ETL) extraction, transformation and loading data from heterogeneous source system into target database. Create mappings using Designer and extract data from various sources, transform data according to the requirement involved in extracting data from flat files and relational databases into staging area. Migrate mappings, sessions, workflows from development to test and then to UAT, Production environment. Develop Informatica mappings and reusable transformations to facilitate timely loading of data of a star schema. Develop informatica mappings by using Aggregator, sql overrides usage in lookups, source filter usage in source qualifiers and data flow management into multiple targets using router and aggregator to create robust mappings in informatica power center Designer. Create sessions and extract data from various sources, transform data according to the requirement and load data into data warehouse. Use various transformations like Filter, Expression, Sequence Generator, update strategy, joiner, router and Aggregator. Import various heterogenous files using Informatica PowerCenter 10.4 source analyzer. Develop several reusable transformations mapplets that were used in other mappings. Prepare Technical Design documents and test cases. Conduct Unit Testing and Resolution of various bottlenecks. Implement various performance Tunning Techniques. Use oracle as a source and target system. Develop ETL programs using informatica to implement the business requirements. Communicate with business customers to discuss the issue and requirements. Create shell scripts to fine tune the ETL flow of the informatica workflows. Conduct production support to resolve the ongoing issues and troubleshoot the problems. Conduct performance tunning at the functional level and map level. Use relational SQL whenever possible to minimize the data transfer over the network. Use informatica parameter files for defining mapping variable, workflow variables, FTP connections and relational connections. Perform enhancements and maintenance activities of the data warehouse including tunning modifying of stored procedures for code enhancements. Work on onsite and offshore work model. Use pre and post sessions assignment variable to pass the variable values from one session to other. Design workflow with many sessions with decision, assignment task, event wait and event raise tasks. Use informatica scheduler to schedule the jobs. Review and analyze functional requirements, mapping documents, problem solving and trouble shooting. Perform unit testing at various levels of the ETL and be actively involved in team coded reviews. Identify problems in existing production data and develop one time scripts to correct them.
